Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the ideal client? What kind of events work well?
Organizations who prefer smaller, intimate, high-touch events and are able to clearly identify their target market. We work with executive teams on retreats, client appreciation events and fundraising events.
How long is the typical event?
Most outings are approximately 3 hours and are focused around a lunch or evening cruise with drinks and small bites. Team building activities can run a full day 9-5pm.
What do I wear?
Comfortable clothes are encouraged. Because of the teak deck on the boat hard soled shoes and heels are not permitted, but bare feet, white-soled sports shoes or boat shoes are encouraged. There is often a breeze on the water so a wrap or jacket might come in handy, even when the sun is shining.
Where do I meet the boat?
The dock will be predetermined as the yacht will need a reservation at a suitable dock. Factors considered are: available reservations, depth of water, and ease of boarding/disembarkation. The organizer will communicate with the attendees in advance.
What if someone is late?
The boat cannot come back to pick up late guests so the event organizer will be responsible for deciding if the whole party waits for a latecomer or if the planned departure time will be honored. In the event of a late departure, original end time will still stand.
What about bad weather?
Weather is always a factor. If the boat is available the day after the planned event it is possible that the event could be held the next day but that must be determined in advance. If wind is the factor the event might be able to occur but remain at the dock instead of going into open water. The Captain of the boat will advise if it is safe to leave the dock and will inform the event organizers whether the ride might be uncomfortable due to wind/waves/weather as soon as it is determined.
How many guests can the boat accomodate?
In order to keep guests and crew safe, and be compliant with the USCG, the ideal number of total attendees is up to 12 guests. Smaller, more customized events can be easily arranged for those who want privacy or have special requests. For dockside only events, attendance can be discussed.
What about life jackets?
The yacht is fully Coast Guard Compliant and we have life jackets aboard for every guest. There are regulations specifying that youth under a certain age and weight are required to be in life jackets. If families prefer, you are welcome to bring your own PFD. Prior to leaving the dock the crew will prepare the guests with a safety briefing to ensure everyone is educated and prepared in the event of an emergency.
Is there anything else to take into consideration?
While inclusivity is one of our primary goals, there are certain individuals who may not be an ideal fit for this activity. Those who may suffer from balance or mobility issues, motion sickness, fear of water, or have any conditions that may put themselves at risk or in danger while aboard are asked to let our team know in advance so we can better accommodate.
